I made these with the Pulse, Livescribe Smart Pen. It has a camera and a microphone on it so it links what you write with the audio it records. If you were taking notes in class you could go back later and touch part of your notebook and it would replay the audio it recorded from the teacher as he or she was speaking. You can even transfer this "penlet" to your computer or laptop and publish online. Seems useful for educators who are given the ability to make supplemental virtual "lectures". The second one has a few silent times of brief inactivity (its not broken) because I learned pause stops the audio recording but not the video playback. You must hit stop to do both.
